86 years and still going strong. Bates Turkey Farm “Hatched” (literally) in June of 1923. It all started when my Dad received 9 turkey eggs from his Aunt Mamie Bates as a wedding present! For 5 generations our family has owned and operated the farm with but one purpose in mind . . . produce the finest turkeys to ever grace a table.
Our farm is located on US hwy 31 in Logan, Al, in historic Lowndes County, just off I-65 at exit 142.
In 1970 we opened Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, only 12 miles down the road. There we serve only turkey. From our famous Hickory Smoked turkey sandwich, to the old fashion turkey dinner. Our carry home items have expanded from the whole birds to sliced meats, to all types of turkey casseroles and our popular turkey soups. Something for the entire family.
